STUDY SYSTEM
1. Post Secondary Certificate:

It can be done after class 12th. It is usually of one year duration.

2. Diploma/ Advanced Diploma:

Can either be done after Class 12th or Diploma after 10th in India. They provide an option of co-op work term which gives the student an opportunity to gain practical experience. These work terms can be paid or unpaid. The duration of the programs would be 2 or 3 years.

3. Bachelor’s Degree:

Bachelor Degrees are awarded by Universities/ University Colleges/ Community Colleges after 3 or 4 years of full-time study and can lead to graduate level studies.

4. Fast Track/ Accelerated Programs:

Are meant for Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma holders and the duration could be from 1-2 years in a specialized skill aimed at employability.

5. Post Graduate Diplomas/ Certificates:

The prerequisites to enroll in these programs are a Bachelor’s Degree or an Undergraduate Diploma.

6. Masters Degree:

It is an optional for Bachelors Degree holders, graduates who have an interest in further learning and research and those who want to broaden their career possibilities. It is for 1 or 2 years of duration and can be pursued after 4 years of Bachelor’s degree.

7. Doctorate or PhD:

PhD is a degree ranking above the Masters Degree and generally requires 3 to 7 years to complete.

Working while studying is one of the many reasons Canada has become a favorable study destination for International students.

As an international student, you may work on or off campus up to 20 hours per week during your regular study terms/semester and more during your vacation break. To work in Canada, one requires to get a Social Insurance Number of nine digits. You also need to have work conditions printed on your study permit. If you don’t have work conditions on it, you can ask to add and there’s no fee for the same. A Co-op or program involves working as part of your program of study.

As per IRCC update of October 7, 2022; Limit on off-campus work hours to be lifted temporarily - From November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023, International students who are in Canada and who have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will not be restricted by the 20-hour-per-week rule.

The post-graduation work program is designed to provide students with Canadian work experience in their field of study. This program allows certain students to work for up to three years after their graduation. One Year Study -> 1 Year
Two-Three Years Study - Upto 3 Years work permit.
